Fievel ain’t the only one who can go West.

My trip to California and Vegas was a huge success, if I do say so myself.  I was very ready for a vacation, for a change in scenery.  And hot damn, Orange County is definitely different from Pittsburgh.  Of course, I expected Vegas to be different, but Orange County surprised me.  It was nice though.

I flew into John Wayne airport Tuesday morning and was picked up by the lovely Erika.  She was just what I had imagined, except for her high-pitched voice.  I liked it though and I knew instantly I would like her.

This was quite a convenient realization to have, considering I had just flown 2,500 miles across the country to spend a week with her.

After eating at In-n-Out, napping on her couch, and meeting her husband, the lovely Shannon joined us.  We enjoyed an amazing dinner cooked by Erika’s hubby (thanks Eric!) and prepared ourselves for a fun day in Los Angeles.

Oh, L.A. As someone who religiously watches the Hills, I had been anticipating my first visit to the area for many years. So beautiful, yet so materialistic.  I loved every second.

We decided to do one of those bus tours and take pictures of celebrities’ houses.  Did you know Justin Timberlake has termites?   Probably not, because only cool people who take a Starline Tour know such things.  Then we went to Madame Tussauds and took silly pictures with wax figures.  This one was my favorite:

Giving Tiger Woods the finger and bashing his head in. Because he kinda deserves it.

Anyway, I had a fabulous time in California, but I was extremely excited to take a short roadtrip to Vegas with the rest of the gang.  Stay tuned to part two, where I’ll tell you about my time in Vegas.

Though I can’t tell you too much…it is Vegas after all.

I’m sure you understand.
