Today, in response to my last post, I received a Facebook message reminding me that I’m not fat. I appreciated the reminder and hope my last post didn’t alarm any of you. While I do want to get in better shape and slim down a bit, I have no intention of counting every calorie I put in my mouth. I know I’m an average-sized female. I’d just like to tone up some.
Now that I got that out of the way, I have some news. I’ve decided to run a 5K race at the end of September. This will be my first race ever, but I’m hoping it’ll be the first of many. I have to prepare for that half-marathon I’m gonna run someday.
So along with any workout tips, I’d love to hear your race training tips as well. I’ve been putting my new sneakers to good use; I’ve been running and strength training. I even attended a TurboKick class today!
My ass is gonna look so awesome in a few months. I can’t wait.

Awesome! You’ll do great I am sure! I say pace yourself – that’s what I am trying to do with the race I am training for this fall, because if you try to do it all at once, it’ll just be too stressful and seem daunting. Good luck!!

I made QLL. :’)
But YAAAYYYY, for wanting to be healthier and exercise regularly. I’m all for that as well, too. I’ve been such a slacker lately; time to get on the ball. haha

What is TurboKick? Sounds awesome. I like to kick and punch (hehe… releases my aggression so I don’t beat someone up during the course of my day). I was thinking kickboxing could be fun and a great workout but couldn’t find any place to go (for cheap).

That is SO awesome that you’ve decided to start training for a 5k! I’ve always wanted to do one after seeing some of my online friends have, but holy crap, I’m pretty sure I would die. I’m excited to hear how you do!!

Good for you! Maybe you can inspire me to do the same…
